The Perfect 3-step Skincare Routine

You might be wondering why you need a skincare routine. Well, it’s one of the easiest ways to experience less frequent breakouts and to look your best! Since the beginning of the pandemic, more people have started working from home and taking care of their skin more than ever. You might have spent more time researching the products that work best for you, and started looking into the perfect skincare routine for yourself. Did you know that even something as simple as washing your face every day will make a difference and show great results in the long run?

We understand that it can be hard to know where to start. This guide is intended to help you work out a simple three step routine that will take 3-5 minutes of your mornings and evenings. If you feel like you don’t want to commit to it, you’ll see that within a matter of days these steps will become a natural part of your daily routine and you won’t even have to make time for it.

Step One: Wash your face with a cleanser

Throughout the day, your skin will be exposed to dirt, dust, pollution…which will cause your pores to build up. Cleansing is the first and most essential part of your routine because it helps to remove toxins and oils, and gets rid of any products that you’ve applied. Washing your face with a cleanser is easy.  To start, splash some lukewarm water (hot water will make your skin dry) onto your face, then rub the cleanser in a circular motion on your cheeks and forehead for about 30 seconds, and wash off the cleanser afterwards with lukewarm water. When you’re done, grab a towel and pat your skin (not rub) until it’s dry. Step one, completed!

Step Two: Exfoliate with a face scrub

Exfoliating helps to remove dead skin cells and other build up on your skin to keep it looking healthy. Depending on your skin type, you might only need to use a face scrub once or twice a week to reap its full benefits without damaging your skin. If your skin is particularly oily, then you might want to apply it three times a week. Face scrubs are often left out of skincare routines, when they actually help to improve skin tone and texture, restore the skin’s natural glow, unclog pores, and fight signs of aging. After you’ve cleansed your face, you need to apply a small amount of scrub to your skin with gentle motions for about 20 seconds, rinse with lukewarm water and pat your face dry. Using an exfoliator before shaving will help you nourish your skin for longer and lasting smoothness, and prevent ingrown hairs and bumps.

Step Three: Hydrate your skin with a moisturizer

It may sound obvious, but a moisturizer is one of the number one keys to healthy, glowing skin, no matter your age, or skin type. For maximum benefits, we recommend applying a moisturizer to a clean face daily (morning and evening), to ensure your skin stays hydrated throughout your day. For once, using a moisturizer helps to reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness, as well as wrinkles and fine lines, and it also protects the skin’s barrier from irritation. After you’ve cleansed your face and exfoliated with a scrub, all you need to do is a apply a pea-sized amount of moisturiser to your forehead, cheeks and neck, using fingertips and gently rubbing it in circular motions, until it’s all absorbed. Your skin will feel silky and fresh in a matter of seconds!

A simple and quick three step routine will help you get into skincare and taking care of your beautiful skin from early on. There isn’t just one skincare routine that’s right for everybody’s skin because everybody’s skin is different, but this is a great place to start! The good news is, you’re never too old or too young to start a skincare routine! A lot of men think they only need skincare when they have a specific issue with their skin (dryness, redness etc) but following a routine will not only help to maintain a healthy-looking skin, but it will also help to prevent any issues in the first place. Skin routines are central to good skin – and when your skin looks good, you can’t help but feel good and more confident too!
